With a brush whose hairs have been removed, the end is bent into the shape of a brick. Determine the size approximately with 1:87. This is used to press the brick pattern into the clay.
Finally, the edges are painted with the cement color. For the pipe, a piece of 5/8 electrical conduit has been used.
The cobblestone road was also imprinted in DAS clay using a hairless brush. The painting was done using the method described earlier.
A drop of craft glue can be used to place the "reeds" in position. Short green and longer natural-colored strands were used. With a little brown model paint, the impression of reed heads can be created at the ends.
